Who We Are
The CCRSM initiative resides within TEA’s division for College, Career and Military Preparation (CCMP). TEA has collaborated with Educate Texas to help historically underserved students and those wishing to accelerate their learning develop technical skills, earn dual college credit and pursue in-demand career paths. This collaboration supports high school students in meeting their highest potential through College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM).
As the TEA's designated technical assistance provider, Educate Texas supports more than 370 planning and designated CCRSM campuses across Texas by:
- Providing tailored coaching, on-site and virtually, for each campus to address specific leadership team needs
- Creating an integrated network of CCRSM schools that share best practices and help each other identify and resolve challenges
- Establishing communication tools across the network to highlight successes and share learning
Texas Education Agency
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is the state agency that oversees primary and secondary public education. It is headed by the commissioner of education. The mission of TEA is to ensure that every child is prepared for success in college, a career, or the military. TEA’s strategic priorities to reach this goal include: 1) Recruit, support and retain teachers and principals, 2) Build a foundation of reading and math, 3) Connect high school to career and college, and 4) Improve low-performing schools. The Texas Education Agency works to improve outcomes for all public-school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems. See TEA’s Strategic Plan to learn more about the commissioner’s vision for Texas.
As a public-private initiative of the Communities Foundation of Texas, Educate Texas maintains a vision that every Texas student will be prepared for success in school, the workforce and life. Educate Texas provides leadership coaching to each CCRSM campus and manages an integrated communication network for CCRSM leaders. Through this network, campuses share best practices, learning experiences and help each other in identifying and solving problems.
