Describe campus/program, goals, and theory of change

The makeup of this program has locations on two different sites.  The high school has two individual PEIMS numbers - Southeast and Southwest for grades 9-12.  There is a ninth grade class at another location under both PEIMS numbers.  The middle school is located on this campus with two individual PEIMS numbers.  The goals of the high school campus are:  Improve the collaboration with the middle school campus in order to vertically align the program.  Our discussion included participation in more activities for the middle school students with the high school and aligning the middle school electives with the high school programs.  The second goal is to increase the number of students passing AP exams by 15 % and increasing the number of students taking Algebra I in the 8th grade.  The final goal is increasing student and staff utilization of technology in the classroom.

The district has hired an executive principal to facilitate the campus goals; however, there are no plans to combine the schools under one PEIMS numbers.  In order to comply with the requirements of designation, discussions are planned to offer two distinct programs on the campuses.

Describe Blueprint Benchmark strengths

Benchmark 1 - The campuses utilized data consistently to drive all instructional decisions.  All campus stakeholders are involved in data decisions and the develop of strategies to address decisions through PLC's.

Benchmark 4 - The professional development plan has been developed to train all teachers in the utilization of PBL's for the entire year.  The district provided one week prior to the beginning of the school year.  Subject area specialists have been hired to work with teachers in English, Mathematics and Science.

Professional development alignment to campus needs

What tools or resources would be valuable to your campus to support your implementation of the blueprint?

Funding opportunities to increase utilization of technology in the classroom.

Technical support that will keep the campus focus on growth in the blueprint continuum.

Opportunities to grow the skill set of the academic counseling for students.

What have been your challenges and how have you addressed them?

The district has not been receptive to combine schools under one PEIMS number for each location.  The district has had enrollment issues; therefore, combining the schools is not on the table.  Discussions have been held concerning the campuses and the fact that everything is the same with the exception of which schools are enrolled in.  The campus would like to have two distinct programs; however, district approval will be needed.
