Finding time to develop strong Internships for our students- Addressed by campus giving coordinator specific class periods in which she will have time to do the visits and  schedule internships for the students.

STEM students gain credit through the PLTW courses, (articulated credit), almost all STEM students are in both AP and Dual Credit courses on the campus. Many of the students are part of the ECHS program where they will also obtain an AA degree when they graduate.

Scheduling is the biggest issue. Some of the students are in both ECHS and STEM as well as being in AP classes/athletics/band/etc.

Strong bridge program with UTEP engineering for one week called the EXCITES program. Students designed and built canoes that would hold two people and culminated with the students having a race in the pool in the canoes. Lots of engineering concepts taught and really excited the students about going into STEM.
