School employs effective Teacher and Staff Development Plan - describe
Being a rural community, the HS Principal has had to be very active in recruiting effective teachers and has done an excellent job of employing the teachers they need. They have a core of teachers with masters to teach a few of the college courses and they have the teachers they need for the certification classes. SDECHS has employed two qualified instructors to teach art and English courses on the HS campus. Projected growth of ECHS future cohorts would lead to these two teachers within four years to be teaching only ECHS sections. Recruitment efforts are currently in place to fill positions with credentialed instructors for all four core areas. Additionally, several teachers have been credentialed to teach elective and workforce courses.
